Darjeeling, the queen of hills has many places nearby which you can explore and visit. You will always get common names if you ask locals but there are places that are less visited and not much traveled. SANDAKPHU TREK

This peak is at a height of 11,941 feet and is the highest peak in West Bengal. The highest peak is in Darjeeling district and near the border of Nepal and is closely located to Sangalila National Park. Here you get the view of four out of the five highest peaks in the world. You can get the best view of Kanchendzonga and you can reach here either by trekking or you can book a cab for yourself on 99 car rentals and get here without hassle. The place is pure bliss and paradise for any nature lover as there alone are 600 plus orchids variety. The trekking distance is about 51kms and whilst you are on it you will witness an abundance of Himalayan cobra lilies.
 
TINCHULEY

Tinchuley is at a distance of 32kms from Darjeeling and offers off beat and hamlet situated at the West Bengal border. With an altitude of 5550ft, this place's name is derived from the words, tin, and Chula which together translates into three ovens because of the three hills constituting the hill station mud ovens. Tinchuley is considered a perfect paradise for those who are seeking something spiritual outcome from their travel. Here you can indulge in activities such as rock climbing, trekking, sightseeing, and all that against a very scenic view of a green mountain’s cape.


PURULIA

It is the westernmost district of West Bengal and offers a view you will be blessed to see. This place slowly becoming a place popular and known amongst people. The town is very well connected to other parts of the country. Purulia offers you majestic views and hills that are lush green, clear water, and fresh air. You can visit the Rakab forest, Gajaburu hills, Baranti Reservoir or Murardi lake, Surulia, Doldanga, and many such places when you are here. 


LOLEGAON

Lolegaon is located about 120kms from Siliguri, Lava and Lolegaon are at a distance of only 25kms from one another. Both of these villages offer a pristine view of the snowcapped mountains and some ancient Buddhist monasteries among other crazy sights. When here you can visit places like the Canopy walk lo, Lolegaon viewpoint, Changey Falls la, the very famous Neora valley national park and Jhandidaro lo, etc.
 

LEPCHAJAGAT

It is a small village which is about 19kms from Darjeeling and is at a height of 6,956ft, this place is heaven for nature lovers. There are forests pines, oaks, and rhododendrons and this place will give you tranquility. It has now become a reserved forest area. 


RAMDHURA

This village is 15km from Kalimpong and gives you a scenic view and getaway of Kanchenjunga peaks, Teesta river, pine forests, and Cinconha plantations. Here you can see and witness different varieties of birds and butterflies that fill this beautiful town. Here you can also take up home-stays and enjoy the nature and view around. It is also considered as an ideal place for trekking and mountaineering trips.

LAMAHATTA ECO PARK

This is a scenic village in west Bengal about 23km from Darjeeling. To showcase and make witnessing memorable of views, peaks, and rivers and the dhupi and pine forest here this eco-park was built in the year 2012. It is situated at an altitude of 5,700ft. This park has wooden and bamboo gazebos that overlook the beauty of Lamahatta. The garden there is known as the Roadside garden with various flowers like orchids of white and yellow shade.
 
MIRIK TOURISM

Mirik is located at the banks of a big lake and the top town of Mirik adds to the beauty of North Bengal’s bounty. Other than Himalayas Mirik has a lot more to offer other than mountains and lakes.
